Before you start
When creating a blog post for your website, it's very important to think about the comfort of your future readers. Offering your visitors only text can quickly discourage them from reading, and they'll give up before the end of your article.
Here we will explain the following:
How to add an image to your blog post
Access the tool Website > Smart Pages > Blog posts.
Once in this page, you can create a blog post from scratch, or click on an existing one, in the Manage button, to edit adding an image.
Now that you are in the blog post page, there are two possible ways to include an image:
- As a cover picture: This is the default image displayed when you review the list of all your posts. The space to include is already visible, so just drop the desired image on it.
- As part of the body of your post: You can add it at any place within the body of your content: beginning, middle or end, before or after a paragraph. To do it, just click on the image icon in the floating menu displayed next to your paragraphs.
Image size for a blog post
For an optimized display of your articles, we recommend using images 1200 px wide and 628 px high . However, slightly smaller images are tolerated.
Your image meets the recommended size criteria (1200x628 or more)
In this case, inside the article, the main image will occupy the entire width of the page. The image will be cropped to make it easier to read your article:
Given that in this case the image has a good size that does not compromise its resolution, you can zoom in or out as preferred.
Image does not meet recommended size criteria
If you are in this case, then inside the article, the main image will be reduced in size.
If your image is too small, the design of your news page may not be perfect.
You don't add an image.
If you don't add images, then, within your article, the reader will have direct access to the text.
Image position within a paragraph
If you upload an image as part of the body of the blog post, you will also have the option to position it within a paragraph. To do this:
- Click on the image, hold the click and move it to the desired location.
- The paragraph space will switch to an orange background with white arrows.
- Move the image to the top, right, left or bottom. The arrows will move accordingly to confirm the expected position.
- Release the click and drop the image. Here is an example:
