Before starting
Similar to the behavior of singular members/persons, at some point, you may need to update information of your entities, or face duplicates in your CRM.
Here we will show you how to:
Modify the information of an entity
The information related to an entity can easily be modified or updated by:
- The administrators via the back office/administration mode.
- A user who is registering an entity via a membership form.
Check out this article for more information on how to modify or delete an entity.
Merge an entity
You can merge entities together if you have duplicates in your CRM.
The merge rules are the same as for people. Some additional rules have been configured:
- You cannot merge a person and an entity together.
- When merging Entity A (primary contact) and Entity B (secondary contact), the Contacts linked to Entity B become attached to Entity A.
Example
"John Doe" belongs to "Facebook". If I merge "Google" (as primary contact) and "Facebook" (as secondary contact) together, John Doe no longer belongs to Facebook, but to Google. And so Facebook disappears.
- When merging a Entity A (primary contact) and a Entity B (secondary contact), the persons linked to Entity B are therefore moved to Entity A.
Check out this article for more information on merging contacts in Springly.
