A check that you have deposited in the bank has been rejected. You want to fill in the information in the software. Here is how to proceed.
Find the relevant check
Go to Accounting > Book entry >Go Further then click on Mark a check as Rejected.
Find the check you want to mark as rejected. To do this, use the search filters.
Once you have found the check, to the right of the line click on Mark check as rejected.
Another option is to go to the accounting entry and click on Mark this check as rejected.
By clicking on one of these buttons, the software will automate for you:
- the generation of an accounting entry for a rejected check to allow you to perform your bank reconciliation correctly
- the entry appears again as unpaid and thus becomes a receivable that you can follow from your Payables / Receivables page
Therefore, it is not necessary to cancel the entire check remittance when a check from that remittance is rejected.
You can now contact the person to request a new check.
